Tanning Lotions By Skin Type 

One reason that there are so many different tanning lotions is that several are designed for certain skin types.  If you are hard to tan then your skin requires a different formula then someone who tans easily.  So we thought we would take a moment to discuss which lotions are best for you.

We will divide into three basic categories:

1. Hard To Tan – These are for the tanner who has a hard time establishing their base and if not careful will burn.
2. Intermediate Tanner – These are for the tanner who tans pretty easily AFTER their base tan is established.
3. Advanced Tanner – These are for the tanners who tan without any risk of burning. Lucky You!

HARD TO TAN:

For those of you that are hard to tan you really need a good accelerator to get you going. We recommend using Dark Tanning Accelerator by Australian Gold and using it every day, whether you tan that day or not.  This lotion starts the tanning process without UV exposure so when you do get some rays you have jump started the process and your base is much, much easier to obtain. Use the whole bottle before you move on. Once your base is developed then you can move to something with gentle bronzers, like Australian Gold’s Kiss Kiss Bronze Bronze.  This is loaded with moisturizers which also help you keep the color.  Once have finished with this lotion you should be dark enough to use any lotion you please.

INTERMEDIATE TANNER:

For this skin type we recommend starting out with an accelerator with bronzer such as Australian Gold’s Cheeky Brown. This lotion has gentle bronzers, vitamins and moisturizers that make a big difference in getting your base tan established and allow you to develop a dark tan fast. Once you have finished with this lotion you can go with something more advanced such as Designer Skin’s Masquerade which offers amazing technology called Rapid Release Bronzers. From here, you should be advanced enough to use whatever lotion you want. A popular option for this point in tanning is Designer Skin’s Black 20X.
